About Our U.S. Constitution
Know our founding document. Understand our freedoms. Keep learning.
A place to explore and understand
The Constitution belongs to all of us. Our U.S. Constitution is a place to explore the document that established our national government, the Bill of Rights that protects fundamental freedoms, and the history and ideas behind them.
Our goal is to make these subjects approachable—whether you are opening the Constitution for the first time, revisiting something you learned in school, or looking more closely at a question that matters to you.
What you’ll find here
Explore the Constitution’s articles and the first ten amendments, follow links to original documents, and discover explanations and historical context.
As the site grows, we plan to feature guest contributions about American history, constitutional principles, and civic life.
Our approach
This is a nonpartisan educational project. We aim to encourage curiosity, careful reading, and respectful discussion across different viewpoints.
We distinguish the words of the founding documents from commentary about them, and link to primary sources so you can read and consider them for yourself.
“We the People”
A work in progress
We are building this collection one piece at a time. Some sections currently link to the National Archives while more content is prepared. We hope you’ll return as the site grows.
Our U.S. Constitution is an independent project and is not an official government website. Its content is offered for general education.
